The experience: Childhood memories are filled with tales from yore that conjured up fantastic beings and objects with magical qualities, leaving us awestruck. And maybe somewhere within, creating nostalgia for those objects. what better way to revisit those characters than art, which is again a world where anything is possible.

The exploration: In this series, the artist, inspired by these magical beings/objects, embarks upon a journey to explore their complex forms in an abstract way through simple geometric shapes. He is fascinated by the interrelationships between basic forms that emerge whilst striving to keep the essence of the characters intact. He finds the process in itself as a means of reliving the feeling of wonder and vivid imagination created in one’s mind when stories with these characters were narrated.

The expression: To this end, the artist chooses brass sheets because they match the patina that the metal acquires, with the antiquity of the characters. These sheets are etched upon with geometrical shapes and finished with an antique look, again expressing the antiquity of the characters.
